Hyundai released new info stating the 6cyl would weigh in at 3400lbs & the 4cyl at 3300lbs, not great, but better. The RMR SEMA coupe was able to shave off 800lbs with unlimited funds, but that was after the installation of full roll cage, etc. RMR said that the factory doors weighed 80lbs, where as their replacements only weighed 8lbs (72lb savings per door). Hyundai is releasing the R-Spec lightweight version this fall that will be lighter & cheaper than all the rest of the line up due to lack of amenitites. This is what I'm waiting for. They said it would not have all the creature comforts like: Nav, ipod/bluetooth connectivity, pwr/heated seats, pwr mirrors, etc, etc, which should maybe shave off another 100lbs of the 3300lb 4cyl bringing it down to 3200lbs. I know I can shed another 200lbs off that w/CF hood, deck, fenders, doors, bumpers, etc along w/light weight rims, drive pulleys, exaust, etc. I won't remove rear seat or radio, because I want to still use it as a daily driver intermittently. But 3000lbs with over 400Hp after mods should be rather quick.
