Still seems a bit porky even with 6 airbags etc etc.

A 4-door like the Subaru Legacy with sunroof, electric seats, 6 airbags, AWD, Autobox and turbo 4 still weighs in at less than about 3250lbs.

Is there any usage of aluminium in the Genesis Coupe?

What all are you replacing to get that 100lbs? Hood may save 10-15 (unless your going custom race style which may net you 25lbs if the genesis' hood is heavy). Trunk lid another 10lbs, and front fenders maybe another 5lbs.

Hyundai did say there is a lightweight version coming (4cyl only). I would hope that by deleting some sound deadening, carpets, electric conviences (windows, pwr mirrors, etc.), and maybe even the backseat that 3100-3200lbs is possible. I would be all over that. Get some lightweight rims (hopefully the brembo package will be on or opt. on the lightweight version) and some engine mods for around 300-350hp (still want daily driveability and reliability) and you could have a very nice weekend track racer or even auto-Xer.

Being Hyundai tech i figured you'd be familiar with Hyundai's heavy *** hoods. haha

I saved 25lbs with a VIS hood on my RD2, and the gen coupe's hood seems quite a bit larger than the second gen RD. So i was figuring at least 30lbs, then you get a odyssey battery which weighs about 15lbs, compared to the 45 the stock battery will weigh (average weight) thats another 30lbs saved.

Thats 60 with two things, if you don't think i could find another 30lbs your nuts, lightweight rims alone would put you above the 100 total saved. Wouldnt be too hard.

The lightweight option will be attractive especially with its price tag, but the amenities will be very slim, which is understandable with a stripped racer, but i'm a believer in lightweight luxury; remove the unneeded weight replace others with lightweight material, but when its said and done you wouldnt be sacrificing too much comfort.

Including the drivers loosing some weight and driving naked. ;D

Does anyone know the interior dimensions?(i.e. legroom, headroom) I was hoping that is about the same interior space as the tiburon.
