| To be fair, they do have to distance it some over the Tiburon (or whatever it's replacement will be called).
Still, at around $25k it's gonna be a bargain, esp if it can match on dynamics and build quality with what Hyundai's named as it's competition, "“(a)ccording to Hyundai, the short list of Genesis coupe competitors includes the Infiniti G37, BMW 335i coupe, Ford Mustang GT, Mazda RX-8, and Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, though a comparison of specs reveals the G37 matters most. - Motor Trend”
G37, $35,000 base price:
335i, $41,000 base price:
Mustang GT, $27,000 base price:
RX-8, $26,000 base price:
Eclipse, $28,500 base price (this sure is an ugly car):

| I don't see where it says $7,000 more than $17,000 ?
The V6 will have to be under the Mustang's price to still be referred to as the "most affordable 300hp" but means that the i4 base model will have to be quite less than that. I can't imagine the i4 starting at $24,000 and a V6 still under $28,000... the i4 will have to be priced low enough to make it worth NOT getting the v6.
I believe I've seen the i4 quoted at being as low as $19,000 with the v6 starting at $24-26k
Also, it's been said that the Genesis will NOT be sold in Europe, because Lexus has such a large market there. Maybe the Tiburon replacement will go to Europe instead? I don't see why they'd have a Tiburon and i4 Genesis Coupe... they're too close to each other, which leaves me further to believe the Tiburon replacement may not come to the U.S. (but hey, I've been wrong in the past)

| I agree with majiktib. It's prolly that the V6 base will be 7K more than the Tiburon base. Also too the Gen Coupe I4 fuly loaded would still have to be within a couple thousand less than the V6 base. Why make the I4 if your intent is to get people to by the V6...lol then again look at the Mustang. The V6 base has barly 215hp rated at the crank fron the dealer and the GT has 300. Now the engine in the base model is a 4.0 V6 and the GT has a 4.6 V8. why so little hp in the v6? They want you to by the GT. Hell when you get into it the base model Mustang has a shitty interior and build. The Tiburon base model has a better interior for less! |

| i dont think that we should even talk about the damn mustang. too many ppl have them and i dont think they look good. the BMW is just that, a BMW high priced. i will say that it does look good, but has a limited market due to price and maintenance costs. the RX8's rotory engine while mostly reliable, it also has high repair costs, plus it is a little awkward looking, nice but awkward. the eclipse's situation speaks for its self. so we know now that we should only discuss the G37. still a little more costly then the Gen Coupe. saving almost $10,000 will help the BK out-perform with the same cost in my opinion. personally i think the BK is a little more sport-sexy, while the G37 is more sport-luxury. a little heavier i believe too. plus the BK will have a more sufficient aftermarket community. i hope that the BK does relate to the G37 in that with even aftermarket mods it maintains a sleek and sexy persona. DONT GO TOO RICEY!!!!!!!!!! |

| there is room for the tib replacement and Gen coupe becuase of the difference in driving front and rear wheel drive vehicles. If you truly want a sports car your going to look more seriously at the Gen coupe. If the tib is a hatch like that concept it will garner plenty of interest.
As for the $7000 more part :
"In terms of positioning, the Genesis will likely start about $7000 more than the 2008 Tiburon, which starts at $17,700."
