Default Mac vs. PC

Which do you like and why?

I'm a PC guy myself, even though the rest of my family has MacBooks!

I have both....

I find the Mac far superior to the PC and I use it for my photos, video, and music.

Unfortunately the world revolves around the PC so I use that for schoolwork.

I own PC's, although technically a mac is still a computer and its yours (personal) so i dont like the differentiation between the two.

I wouldn't mind a mac tho, i always hear great things, they really should have made it much more PC-familiar user friendly; I'm not saying they should have made it just like a PC, I'm just saying they should have a "help I'm used to PCs!" button so PC users aren't scared to try it out lmao.

I explored the mac store before, (and after my pupils adjusted to the super-ultra-mega light they use in those stores), i fiddled around with a few of em, but my girlfriend and i had a hard time figuring the thing out without the guy helping us. Being two young, intelligent, and adaptive people, i cant imagine being a baby boomer who can barely handle a calculator let alone try an learn how to use a mac.

I have several friends who love Macs and will never go back to Windows.

I have a Dell because it was unbelievably cheap. Macs are awesome, very nice, always in front of new technology, but overpriced. Great computers, but like the old Compaqs of the 90s, if something goes wrong with your Mac, you have to pay Apple for replacement parts. They're easily more expensive.

IF graphics THEN Mac > * OR
IF performance THEN Mac > * OR
IF price THEN Alienware > Mac > *

PC- Mostly for gaming and my job, the IT world revolves around Windows...

Im thinking of making a duel boot system, windows for just games and then the rest for Linux.

I just don't get why people still stick to the "Macs are best for graphics" thing. This has not really been true in a long time, not since the defacto standard for image editing started making software for the Windows platform.

Anything you can do graphically on a Mac can be done on a PC just as easily and with about the same performance, and if you add cost to the equation, a PC would out perform a Mac (dollar for dollar). This is even more true since Apple went Intel Inside.

I won't argue because I don't know the comparable specs of the systems... But I've personally worked in print shops, for publishers, and now one of our companies is the largest print-on-demand in the world. They've all used Macs for editing graphics/text before it goes to press/print. For scanning digital content, we use HP... but maybe that's because we print the photobooks for HP's website SnapFish.

The main reason for this is that people still think there is a difference, and they will preference Macs because "Macs are the best for image editing / Audio editing / Video editing" Honestly, anymore, Macs are good for users, just like Windows based machines.

I personally own three Macs, one of which is a first gen G3 Powermac (the beige one that can't run osX) and I just prefre Windows over Mac OS for general usability, but that is more because that's what I have always used.
